General Guidelines:
Course Scheduling
For all education programs:
‣ Private lessons (practical) are given for 10 (ten) meetings per quarter.
‣ Theory and other class-based subjects are given for 10 meetings per quarter.
‣ Ensemble lessons will be determined at the beginning of each quarter.
The duration of the private lesson for the Music Education for Young Children Program, is 30 minutes.
The duration of private lesson for the Precollege Program :
‣ Grade 1 – 2 : 40 minutes
‣ Grade 3 – 4 : 50 minutes
‣ Grade 5 – 8 : 60 minutes
The duration of private lesson for the Performance Diploma Program and Young Artist Program is 60 minutes, while the duration of other subjects is determined by the load/weight of the subject’s importance in this education program.
The class schedule is announced at the beginning of each semester.
Scheduling of practical lessons can be done directly between students and their teacher, or through administration office.
Holidays and Substitute Lessons
Every public holiday (red dates) the Conservatory will be closed, so officially no practical or theoretical lessons are given on that day.
However, if a student has more than one national holiday (tanggal merah) in their schedule, they will get replacement lesson(s) for the second and subsequent holidays. The substitute lesson hours will be arranged by the teacher.
If a student cancels, the school is not obliged to provide replacement lessons.
If a class is canceled due to teacher absence, students will receive a substitute lesson. The schedule for the substitute lesson will be mutually agreed upon between the teacher and students.
Students who cancel the mutually agreed replacement class, will not get rescheduled.
Study Leave
In each grade, students are allowed to take study leave for a maximum of 1 (one) quarter. Study eave exceeding 1 quarter in one grade will be subject to administrative fees.
Study leave of 1 (one) term in the same grade :
Students must give notice to the administration no later than 2 (two) weeks before the end of the previous quarter. The Conservatory cannot refund tuition fees paid for leave of absence declared during the quarter.
Second leave or leave of 2 (two) consecutive term :
For the second leave in the same grade, students will be charged an administrative fee in accordance with applicable regulations.
Leave for more than 2 (two) consecutive term :
The student is considered to have withdrawn from the school. If they wish to resume lessons at the Conservatory, they will be considered a new student and will be required to re-audition and pay the audition fee and registration fee.
Choosing Teacher
Students have the right to propose a choice of mentor teacher. However, the Conservatory will ultimately determine the teacher for the student, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Changing teacher can only be made in the new term. Prior to this, the conservatory must have received a written request from the student or the student’s parents and the student has obtained approval from the previous supervising teacher, the conservatory, and the desired new teacher.
Code of Conduct for Attending Lessons
Every student is required to follow and complete all compulsory subjects in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
Students are required to arrive on time. Students who arrive late will not get extra time for their tardiness.
Students must do every assignment given by the teacher, both in practical and theoretical subjects.
To optimize the learning process in accordance with the conservatory curriculum, students are encouraged not to attend lessons elsewhere.
Tuition Payment
Students are required to complete the new quarterly tuition payment before or on the payment due date stated in the tuition invoice.
Payment of tuition fees made after the due date will be considered as late payment, which results in the imposition of fines according to applicable regulations.
Tuition is non-refundable in any form and for any reason.
Penalty
The conservatory reserves the right to give penalty to a student if:
‣ Students violate rules, both academic and administrative.
‣ Students are undisciplined (often late or absent).
‣ Students do not maintain good manners towards teachers, school staff and fellow students.
The penalty mentioned above may come in the form of suspension from lessons and the school activities for a certain period of time, or expulsion from school.
Academic Transcript
Academic Transcripts are distributed to all Precollege Program students and Performance Diploma Program students at the beginning of each semester.
Copy of Student Files
The Conservatory will accommodate students’ needs for any documents they may need at any time, such as copies of current academic transcripts (also in English), letters of recommendation for participation in competitions or applying to schools, certificates, etc. For this, students are requested to provide the administration with as much written information as possible about their needs every Tuesday-Saturday. All files will be released on Tuesday morning of each week.
Using School Facility
Students are required to protect and maintain school facilities such as musical instruments, study rooms, books, and other facilities. Violations in this regard will be subject to penalty in accordance with applicable regulations.
