Dian, born in Medan in 1981, completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at UPI YAI University, Jakarta. She started learning piano at the age of 4 with her mother and continued at Lembaga Musik Murni Medan. In Jakarta, she studied at Sekolah Musik YPM under Binu D. Sukaman (grade 5&6) and Liana Sastrobuntolo at grade PK1 until she graduated from the Conservatory Preparation level 3 (PK 3). She further studied under Iswargia R. Sudarno at Jakarta Conservatory of Music, earning a Diploma from ABRSM.
Dian won the 1st place in piano competition under 6 years old at Medan and a regional competition in North Sumatra. She attended several masterclasses with Adelaide Simbolon, Ananda Sukarlan, Geoffrey Saba, Hansjorg Koch, and Patrick Zygmanowski, and a Baroque Music workshop with Adhi Jacinth (2023). She performed in concerts by the Jakarta Conservatory of Music and educational seminars.
Dian started teaching piano in 2000 at YPK Klasik Cinere (2000-2008) and private lessons, later she has been teaching piano in practice and theory classes, and head of theory department at Indonesia Piano Art (2009-2020). Dian also joined Etude Music Center as a teacher in September 2023 until now. Since 2004 until now, Dian has been actively teaching at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music (JCoM).
