Ellen Tania was born in Jakarta, started her musical education at the age of 7 under the guidance of Mrs. Adeline at Yamaha, followed by Mrs. Arga Tania Pramita and Dr. Kuei Pin Yeo at the Yayasan Musik Jakarta in 2002.
In 2008, Ellen received a scholarship from the Faculty of Arts, Pelita Harapan University, majoring in Piano Performance under the guidance of Dr. Mario Santoso and Dr. Kazuha Nakahara. She received her Bachelor’s degree in 2012 with Magna Cum Laude, then started working as an assistant lecturer at Pelita Harapan University before being promoted to part time lecturer in 2014. Then, she resumed her music studies at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Mr. Iswargia R. Sudarno from 2014 until 2019.
Ellen has also taken part in a number of master classes from Prof. Manfred Aust, Prof. Hans-Jürgen Schnoor, Prof. Tamás Ungár, Sam Haywood, Steven Spooner, Mahani Teave, Ng Chong Lim, Teguh Sukaryo, Adhi Jacinth, Markus Urbaz, Melanie Hie, and Christian Leotta. Currently, Ellen is active as a teacher at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music and Fermata.
