Karina Novelia was born in Jakarta, November 15th 1993. She received her first piano lesson at the age of 5 years under guidance of private tutor. In 2011, she became a student of Jakarta Conservatory of Music (JCoM) under the guidance of Adelaide Simbolon and Iswargia R. Sudarno in 2013. During her studies at JCoM, she actively participated in various events such as piano festival, chamber and collaboration recital and seminar. To gain more knowledge and experiences she joins various masterclasses under the direction of renowned international artists and pedagogues, including Manfred Aust, Toru Oyama, Nariaki Sugiura, Adhi Jacinth, Albert Tiu, Sam Haywood, Enrico Elisi, Robert Hill, Hans-Jurgen Schnoor, Andrew Ma, Steven Spooner, Anna Kijanowska, Stefan Schmidt and Martin Klett. She has won several achievements, including Finalist of Kompetisi Piano Nasional JCoM-Boston 2017, Finalist of Kompetisi Piano Ananda Sukarlan Award 2016, Second Runner Up at the Indonesian Steinway Youth Piano Competition 2014, Bronze Medal at Bima Kawai Indonesia Competition 2013 and First Prize at CDE Piano Duet Competition 2012.

In 2016, Karina completed her Bachelor of Music Degree, majoring in Classical Piano Performance at Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music under guidance of Dr. Kazuha Nakahara and Levi Gunardi. Two years later, Karina gave her professional debut piano recital at the Studio Recital of Jakarta Conservatory of Music and also received the Certificate of Honour from Pak Jaya Suprana, especially for her performance of the 3rd Piano Sonata, Op. 5 by Johannes Brahms at the Auditorium Jaya Suprana School of Performing Arts, 2018. She is currently teaching at Jakarta Conservatory of Music.
