Ensemble
Ensemble Class
The ensemble class, either Small Ensemble or Large Ensemble, must be taken according to the level of the practical class, and is a prerequisite for participation in the practical examination. Apart from being one of the requirements for taking the examination, ensembles are also used as a place to train students to get used to performing in public together with other musicians.
Information about the ensemble class and the students who wish or are required to join the ensemble class will be announced during the odd term. Registration for ensemble classes is held during the same term in the Registration section. Students who are not required to take the class academically, can also take the class by registering at the beginning of the odd term.
Large Ensemble
Large Ensembles are held twice a year at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music, and must be attended by every orchestral instrument student according to the applicable curriculum.
The Large Ensemble in Jakarta Conservatory of Music takes the form of a concert orchestra named Jakarta Conservatory Chamber Orchestra (JCCO) and Jakarta Conservatory Junior Orchestra (JCJrO).
The ensemble assessment is determined by discipline, readiness, and musical cooperation within the group.
75% attendance in rehearsals and participation in concerts is a requirement to fulfill this program.
Small Ensemble
Small ensemble grading is conducted in conjunction with Student Recital activities.
Registration for Small Ensemble is done through the Administration Office and Ensemble Coordinator.
The Small Ensemble class must be taken once in its practical class level, and is a prerequisite (on required grades) for participation in the practical exam.
