Indonesian pianist Prudence Nugroho has launched a musical career as a solo artist, a pedagogue, as well as a chamber musician.
She first picked up the piano at the age of 5, receiving her musical education at the Jakarta Conservatory of Music from Ruth Wibisono, followed by further tutoring from Prof. Roland Krüger as a young student at the Institute for the Early Advancement of the Musically Highly Gifted (IFF), and eventually as a Bachelor student at the University of Music, Theater and Media in Hanover, Germany.
Having earned her Master of Music recently under the guidance of Prof. Ewa Kupiec and Prof. Christopher Oakden, Prudence was the recipient of several scholarships, such as Yehudi Menuhin Live Music now Hannover e.V. and Deutschlandstipendium.
Prudence has performed in numerous festivals, including the Museé-Matisse Festival in Nice, France, International Holland Music Sessions, Klavierfestival im Alten Magazin in Hannover, and others.
In addition to winning first prizes multiple times at “Jugend Musiziert” in the category piano solo as well as chamber music, and at the Bittburger Klavierwettbewerb in Germany, she was awarded numerous gold prizes at “ASIA International Piano Academy & Festival with Competition in South Korea. Further accolades include the 2nd prize at the 3rd ASEAN International Chopin Piano Competition in Malaysia and the 3rd prize at JCom Piano Competition in Indonesia.
Advocating for the education of young musical talents, she is committed to training and developing independent musical personalities.
She has taken part in various masterclasses and lessons with Prof. Bernd Goetzke, Pascal Roge, Olivier Gardon, Prof. Gesa Lücker, Catherine Vickers, Prof. Markus Becker, Prof. Oliver Wille, Prof. Dr. H.c. Arbo Valdma, Dr. Steven Spooner, Prof. Konstanze Eickhorst, Sam Haywood, Prof. Kim Hae-Yung, Prof. Teppo Koivisto, Prof. Hyoung-Joon Chang, Prof. Ichiro Kato, Tatiana Zelikman and many more.
